How to prepare

We run individual tutorials as well as group workshops to help you to prepare for your test. We also provide personalised feedback if you did not reach the level that you need in any skill or skills.

It is not helpful to try to prepare for an ISLPR test the way that you might prepare for tests in some other testing systems. For example, with the writing test we do not recommend that you try to guess what your tasks will be and spend a lot of time practising these and only these. We do not recommend that you practise complicated phrases that you hope you can use for any topic.

Read this Strategy Sheet. The information will help you to improve your English and prepare for your ISLPR test. If you are doing the test for professional registration, focus on material that is relevant to your profession.

The Application Packs have a Guidelines page, which has information about the kinds of tasks you can expect in your test and what the testers are looking for when they are judging your English.

Please note that we do not publish sample tests.
